To be a grandmother whom was loved by all is no easy feat but
this beautiful woman who had touched each and everyone in her life
departed on this glorious Friday in peace and contentment.
As we wept over her departure, we were all embraced by the loving memories of her smile and her endearing little talk that I'm sure none of us will ever forget.
When I was in my teens, she used to wake me up at 5am in the morning and took me jogging with her.
When I had my school holidays, I spent my holidays with her away from home. She used to make the best chicken wings during birthday parties.
When I'm hungry, she'll try to make a wonderful meal for me in her best way.
When I am feeling down and disheartened, she will tell me stories about the past, the war and all her tales seems like fairy tales that will brightened up my days no matter what.
When she lost her ability to walk, her positive attitude and enthusiasm for life made me realized in life, one is only disabled when one loses hope and the will to live.
Even during the last three months of her life, she continued to smile and chatter in her sweet ways and says softly "Its late. Go home...." always worrying about us.
In loving memory of you Grandma, I will keep your well-worn sarong and use it to wrap my children with it. I want my children to feel your love and your kindness just as how you used to love us. Nothing compares to you and you'll be in my heart always.
